Yoga’s physical and mental benefits can improve your riding and relationship with your horse, more than you might imagine! Internationally accredited instructors in yoga and exercise physiology will lead our yoga classes, while horsemanship lessons and lectures will be taken by Ellen Bennett. In your down time relax in our wood fired sauna, book a massage, and enjoy wholesome, nutritious, delicious plant based food.

Who is this retreat for?

People interested in learning more about horsemanship, who are curious about how to use their bodies and minds differently and are willing to bring more awareness to themselves and their horses.

You will take away

-A deeper understanding of Freework and liberty training, to form a stronger base and bond from which to develop your relationship and training techniques
-Improved balance and better posture to allow your horse to move with more freedom
-Concrete tools to co regulate with your horse and understand your autonomic nervous systems (working with, understanding, and soothing each other’s fight or flight response)
-Improvement in your response to spookiness and a better ability to balance your fear in the saddle and on the ground
-The ability to isolate muscle groups to improve your use of aids
-Strategies to regulate your energy to achieve smoother transitions

When: 11am Friday 24th - 2pm Sunday 26th September
Where: The Farm, Whangaruru
Workshops: Riding, horsemanship, mobility & movement, vinyasa & yin yoga.
Food: Plant based breakfast, lunch & dinner all inclusive. Dietary requirements catered for.
Accomodation: We have a range of accommodation options from private huts to camping on site.
Horses: Bring your own horse or we can provide you with a horse. Please inquire for pricing.
Price: From $415 depending on accommodation and horse choices.
